SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Tsubasa Okada captured the A Singles championship to highlight a strong two-day showing for the RPI men's tennis team at the Garnet Charger Invitational, hosted by Union College, while Okada and Gustave Viennet also advanced to the championship match of the A Doubles flight.

Okada put together an unbeaten run through the A Singles bracket, beginning with an 8-3 victory in the quarterfinals before advancing through a tightly contested semifinal, 8-7 (7-3). He completed the weekend by defeating Luca Garbiti of Trinity College, 8-7 (7-3), in the championship match to claim the top singles flight.

Debarshi Sen joined Okada in advancing beyond the opening round of singles competition. After earning an 8-7 (7-5) quarterfinal victory in the D flight, Sen reached the semifinals before narrowly falling by an 8-6 score. Cade Collingwood also competed in the D bracket, while Isaac Husni and Roy Ravindran represented RPI in the C flight and Felix Puyplat took part in the B draw.

Okada and Viennet continued their successful weekend together in A Doubles. The RPI pairing earned a 6-2 victory in its opening match before advancing to the final with a 6-3 semifinal win. Their run concluded in the championship match, where Luca Garbiti and Maxim Golubenko of Trinity College earned a 6-1 victory.

Puyplat and Husni also competed in the A Doubles flight for the Engineers, while Sen and Collingwood teamed together in B Doubles. Nikhil Deshpande and Ravindran represented RPI in the C Doubles draw.

Okada finished the tournament with four victories across singles and doubles competition, including the A Singles championship, while he and Viennet combined for two doubles wins on their way to the A Doubles final.
