Box Score NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - Three student-athletes posted two victories each to lead the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team to an 8-1 victory over SUNY New Paltz in the Engineers' first dual match of the season. The Hawks drop to 1-1.
Freshmen
Alex Mednikova,
Chloe Barr and
Krisia Flores all won their doubles matches and then came back out for singles and won their respective matches.

Rani Jones were victorious at No. 1 by a come-from-behind 8-7 (3) score, while Barr and Flores joined together to post an 8-2 win at No. 3. Rensselaer's No. 2 team of sophomores
Sanjana Surapeneni and
Brenda Peng won 8-7 (1), coming back from a 5-2 deficit.
In singles, Mednikova, the reigning conference Performer of the Week, won at No. 1, 6-4, 6-4. Barr took No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-1 and Flores won at No. 4, 6-3, 6-2.
Freshman
Nitya Subramaniam pulled out a 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (4) win at No. 5 and senior
Tess Lubin captured the No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-0.
RPI returns to action with an invitational at Williams College this weekend.
