Joey Harrigan shot a 73 on the third and final day of the Golfweek Division III Fall Preview and the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete finished in a tie for 11th place with a +1, 214 in the 120-player, 26-team event held at the Raven Golf Club.
Harrigan, playing off the No. 10 tee, went out in -1 thanks to birdies on No. 13 and No. 18 and the registered four straight pars before a double bogey on No. 5. He shot par on three of the final four holes for his 73 and 214 - both tops on the team. He shot a 72 on the first day and a 69 on Monday.
Freshman
Jacob Lindsay was second on the team after a Tuesday score of 79 and a total of +17, 230. He had two birdies and nine pars a day after shooting a 74. He had a 77 on the first day of competition.
Senior
Trent Han had his best round of the event with a +3, 74 that included a -2, 34 on his first nine. He birdied four holes (Nos. 11, 15, 17, 18) and then countered a bogey at No. 2 with his fifth birdie of the day, this one coming at No. 3.
Matt Buckley, a sophomore, finished the tournament with a 79 and was tied with Han and three others at +21 in the tournament. Buckley, who registered a birdie on Tuesday, had scores of 82 and 73 on the first two days.
Caleb Kimbrough of Averett was the medalist with an 8-under, 205 that included a -5 on Tuesday. He was one stroke better than a pair of runner-ups.
Emory, the No. 3 ranked team in the nation, won the tournament with a -12, 840, which was 13 strokes better than No. 1 Methodist and 28 strokes in front of third place Hamden-Sydney.
