VERONA, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's golf team competed over three days at the Liberty League Championship, held Friday through Sunday at Turning Stone Resort (par 72, 7,013 yards), finishing tied for fourth out of seven teams against a competitive conference field.
Leading the way for the Engineers was
Zydon Yuan, who turned in an outstanding tournament to place third overall at 4-under par. Yuan opened with a strong 1-under 71 in the first round, highlighted by five birdies, followed by an even-par round on Saturday. He then closed the championship in impressive fashion with a 3-under 69 in the final round, carding four birdies, including birdies on each of his final three holes to secure his top-three finish and cap one of the best individual performances of the event.
Ryan Komp delivered a steady three-day showing to finish 15th overall at +6, posting rounds of +2, +2, and +2. His consistency across all three rounds provided a reliable scoring presence for the Engineers throughout the championship.
Sujaan Singh placed 21st overall at +12, opening with a +1 round before navigating a challenging second round and rebounding with a +1 finish on Sunday.
Robert Chuang followed in 23rd place at +13, improving each day after rounds of +4 and +7 with a +2 final round.
Patrick Kiernan finished 27th overall at +14, recording rounds of +5, +5, and +4 across the three days.
