GENEVA, N.Y. - Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) senior
Yudai Teruyama advanced the ITA Northeast Regional Final on Sunday, before falling to John Rado of Skidmore College. Teryuama defeated Engineers teammate
Abraham Yohannes earlier in day in the semifinal round.
The day began with Teruyama beating Yohannes in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3, while Rado held off RPI's
Emilio Van Cotthem, 6-2, 7-6 (8-6) in a pair of tightly contested semifinal matches.
Rado then edged Teruyama, 6-2, 2-6, 6-3, to claim the tournament title, with both players earning spots in the ITA Cup hosted in Rome, Georgia on October 14-17.
RPI is back in action next Saturday, when it heads to Williams College for dual match (1pm).
