Box Score TROY, N.Y. - Saturday marked the season opener for the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team and the Engineers managed a point against Skidmore College, falling to the Thoroughbreds 8-1 at Sharp Courts.

Skidmore, which improves to 4-0 overall and 4-0 in the Liberty League, swept the singles after capturing two of three doubles matches. 

Rensselaer's victory came at No. 2 doubles with Krisia Flores and Natalie Cipriano defeating Lily Feldman and Chanhtel Thongpohk in a tiebreak, 8-7 (9). RPI's top singles performance by score was from Tess Lubin, who fell 6-4, 6-2 at No. 6.

The Engineers hit the road for a match at St. Lawrence on Wednesday at noon. The Thoroughbreds are on the court again on Sunday at Middlebury (noon).
