TROY, N.Y. - Sebastian Castillo-Sanchez and Andrew Imrie combined for four victories to lead the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis team to a 6-3 win over Union College, clinching a Liberty League post-season berth in the process. The Engineers improve to 3-0 overall and 3-0 in the conference and will host a semifinals match on Wednesday against an opponent to be determined. The Dutchmen drop to 2-4 and 2-4.

RPI began the day by winning only one of the three doubles points with Castillo-Sanchez and Imrie posting an 8-1 win at No. 1.

The Engineers then won each of the first four singles matches that were completed to seal the victory. Castillo-Sanchez won 7-5, 6-0 at No. 1, Imrie won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2, Peter Lohrbach won 7-5, 6-3 at No. 3 and Brian Niguidula won 7-5, 6-2 at No. 4. Abraham Yohannes also earned a win for the visitors, capturing No. 5 by a 6-4, 6-4 score.

The Engineers and Dutchmen face each other on Sunday in a non-league match in Troy to close out the regular season.
