TROY, N.Y. – Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete Ryan Yerby has been chosen to a pair of All-Region Third Teams, it has been announced. A senior righthander, he was named to the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III New York Third Team and to the D3baseball.com All-New York Third Team.

The Liberty League Pitcher of the Year and an All-Conference First Team selection, Yerby (Montara, CA / Half Moon Bay) went 2-0 with a 3.60 earned run average in four appearances (all starts) during the 2021 season, which was truncated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He allowed eight runs on 13 hits over 20.0 innings, collecting 20 strikeouts, while walking 11 and surrendering a league-low .188 opponent batting average. His season was highlighted by throwing the 12th no-hitter in school history on May 1 against Ithaca College, silencing the Bombers' bats over a 7.0-inning contest. He struck out four in a 4-0 victory.

Yerby, a captain, earned All-Liberty League Honorable Mention in 2019 after going 5-3 with a 3.88 earned run average in 10 games (9 starts). He threw three complete games, including one shutout, allowing 57 hits over 51.0 innings. Hurling at least five innings in seven of his starts, he gave up a .277 opponent average. Yerby picked up a save in his lone relief appearance.

Through 26 career games, including 15 starts, he is 7-5 with a 3.80 earned run average. He has five complete games, two shutouts and one no-hitter, allowing 104 hits over 94.2 innings. Yerby has 86 strikeouts compared to 36 walks, and opponents are hitting .272 off him.

The Engineers went 6-8 in 2021 with all 14 games coming within Liberty League play. The team saw two seniors throw no-hitters with Jake Nichols (Granby, CT / Granby Memorial) joining Yerby by hurling the 13th no-no in school history on the final day of the season (May 9). Senior Hudson Livesey (St. Petersburg, FL / St. Petersburg) was the catcher in both contests.
