CAMBRIDGE, MA – Two third place finishes highlight the day for the Rensselear Polytechnic Institute (RPI) swimming teams on Saturday, as the Engineers competed in the second day of the MIT Winter Invite. In addition, the Engineers also competed in Troy as they hosted the Lets Go Diving Invitational at Robison Pool.

Leading the day for the women's squad was a fifth place finish in the Women's 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, as the team of
Shannon Brown,
Ola Nawrocki,
Chloe Jepson, and
Alyssa Cahill put up a time of 1:37.74. Cahill also finished fifth in the Women's 100 Yard Backstroke, finishing the A final with a time of 57.85 seconds.

Brown also competed in the Women's 200 Yard Freestyle, posting a seventh place finish with a time of 1:53.77, while
Colleen Whittaker also put up a fifth place finish in the Women's 200 Yard Butterfly with a score of 2:07.20.

Standing out on the men's side was
Tony Min, as he finished third in the Men's 200 Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:52.42. In the Men's 400 Yard Individual Medley, junior Daniel Savidge finished sixth with a 4:09.79 final time.

The other highlights were the Men's 200 Yard Freestyle relay team putting up a seventh place finish, with
Nicholas Stefanidis,
Jimmy Zhen,
Anthony Acciani, and
Mike Dowd scoring a time of 1:26.67. Stefanidis also competed in the Men's 100 Yard Backstroke, and swam a time of 56.98 for a seventh place finish in that event as well.

At home in Troy, the Engineers sported men's and women's diving in the Lets Go Diving Invitational at Robison Pool.

In the first day of competition, RPI had three divers finish in the top six of eight competitors in the Women's 3 Meter 11 Dive. The top finisher was
Shannon O'Hara, who put up a score of 390.70. On the men's side, Matthew Abraham finished fifth with a score of 399.40 as the Engineers only competitor in the Men's 1 Meter 11 Dive.

The Engineers return to the pool tomorrow in both spots, as they take on the third day of the MIT Winter Invite and Day two of the Lets Go Diving Invitational in Troy.
