Thirteen Are All-Region in Track & Field

TROY, N.Y. - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) recently announced its All-Region honorees for the 2022 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field season and 13 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athletes have collected 19 honors. Among them are Matt Lecky and Luke Lyons, both of whom earned three.

The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned the distinction. Rensselaer, which has 10 men and three women honorees, is part of the Mideast Region. Those from RPI are:

Lecky, Lee, Lyons, Piercy, Reed, Scharlow and Shannon all competed in the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Lecky earned All-America in the 3000 meters and the DMR, along with Lyons, Piercy and Shannon, while Scharlow was an All-America for a school record third time in the high jump.
