TROY, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis teams had two doubles teams in the semifinals of the Siena Invitational, but neither advanced to the final in their respective flights. The 6-team tournament was held on RPI's Sharp Courts and featured the Engineers and five Division I schools.
In the B Flight semifinals, freshman
Nikki Ridenour and sophomore
Lorna Flores Gonzalez faced senior Hiba El Khalifi and sophomore Hili Kronzon and lost 6-0. Rensselaer's tandem of
Masha Karach, a freshman, and
Brooke Bauer, a sophomore, faced junior Isabella Tonuzi and sophomore Andriana Zaphiris of Marist College in the C Flight semis and were defeated 7-5.
In the singles back draw, senior
Rani Jones advanced to the B Flight final but lost to Cloe Clements of Marist in a tight match, 8-7 (5).
RPI begins competing in the ITA Northeast Regional on Thursday.
