ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's swimming and diving team opened their season at RIT on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Tigers by a final score of 199-95.
The men's squad was led by Jason Weller, as he won both the 200 and 100 backstroke, taking his first collegiate wins. Also winning for the first time in a college pool was Patrick Epifanio, as he put in a victory in the 500 meter freestyle.
Rounding out the top performance for the Engineers was a first place finish from Will Tan in the 200 breatstroke, while he also added a second place finish in the 100 breaststroke.
RPI returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. when they host Ithaca at Robison Pool for their first home event of the season.
