Field Hockey Battles in Loss at Ithaca

ITHACA, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) field hockey team matched up on the road with the Ithaca Bombers on Friday evening, and fell to the Bombers on the road by a final score of 4-0.
 
Ithaca collected two goals in the opening frame, as Juliann Vadney and Emma Garver both scored less than three minutes apart, as the Bombers took an early lead.
 
Brenna Schoenfeld scored the next two goals for Ithaca with both coming in the third quarter as the Bombers opened up their lead. Schoenfeld's last one came with just 29 seconds remaining in the third as the score moved to 4-0.
 
The Bombers had 28 shots on the day with 15 on frame, as RPI goaltender Tess Garchinsky held strong with 10 total saves on the evening.
 
RPI returns to action on Sunday, Oct. 22 at 12 p.m. when they host Union at Harkness Field for Senior Day and their final Liberty League matchup of the season.
