TROY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's swimming brought home their first victory of the season, as the Engineers took a 175.5-112.5 win over Ithaca College at Robison Pool Saturday afternoon.
RPI was led by a pair of first-place finishes from
Patrick Epifanio, as he took the top spot in both the 1,000 free and 500 free. Also standing out was the 200 Medley Relay team of
Tony Min,
Nicholas Stefanidis,
Mike Dowd, and
Jason Weller as the group put up a time of 1:34.16 .
Min also had individual wins in the 200 and 100 butterfly, while Stefanidis added wins in the 100 and 200 breaststroke events. Dowd also populated the top of the leaderboards, taking first in the 200 free, second in the 100 free, and also joined in on the 400 free relay team with Weller,
Jimmy Zhen, and
Ethan Gadbois that took first in that event.
The Engineers return to action on Sunday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. when they host Saint Rose at Robison Pool.
