Box Score 2 TUCSON, Ariz. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) softball team drew another split on Friday evening, as the Engineers fell to Central College by a final of 4-1 before putting up a 7-6 victory over Indiana Wesleyan University to end their day. With the split, RPI moves to a 2-4 overall record on the season.
Game 1
The Dutch scored one run apiece in the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth to top the Engineers 4-1 in RPI's first game of the day.
A routine ground out to third base from Emma Johnson opened the scoring, as she scored Carson Fisk who had previously reached in the inning on an error. That gave Central an early 1-0 lead in the third inning.
Central's other three runs came without hits, as
Alex Ledger threw out a runner trying to steal while another one crossed the plate on the play in the fourth inning. In the fifth and sixth, runs crossed the plate on an error and fielder's choice.
Catherine Worthington had the lone hit for the Engineers in the game, which also happened to drive in Callista Adoro in the sixth inning for RPI's only run.
Alexis Cooke scattered seven hits over six innings of work, giving up only two earned runs on the afternoon.
Megan Doty and Emma Lenox each collected two hits for the Dutch, with Emma Johnson and Emma Jensen notching RBI's. Emma Beck gave up just the one hit and run in six innings of work before Morgan Schaben finished off the game in the seventh for Central.

The Engineers return to action on Saturday, March 11 starting at 11 am when they face University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and Weber University in another doubleheader in Tucson.
