TROY, N.Y. - For the second straight season, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's hockey team will be led by Amanda Rampado and Marah Wagner as captains, head coach Bryan Vines has announced. Both graduate students served in that capacity in 2022-23. Joining them in the leadership role is senior Taylor Larsen, who will wear an 'A' as an assistant captain.

A goaltender, Rampado (Stoney Creek, ON / Stoney Creek Sabres) has played 77 career games, earning 17 victories (17-57-1) with a 2.57 goals against average and a .924 save percentage. She set career-highs in games played (34), minutes (2015.51), saves (2324), wins (8), and shutouts (4) in 2022-23 after a 2021-23 campaign in which she had her career-bests in goals against average (2.38) and save percentage (.930).

As a senior, Rampado was the ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week three times, the Goalie of the Month once, and an All-League Third Team selection in 2022-23.

Wagner (Langley, BC / North American Hockey Academy), a forward, is now in her third season with the Engineers after transferring from Robert Morris University. An assistant captain in 2021-22, she has played 66 games for RPI, registering 15 goals and 23 assists for 38 points. She has five power play goals, two shorthanded tallies, and a pair of game-winners and has won 53.7 percent of the face offs she has taken (813 of 1514).

As a junior, she was first on the team in goals (11), assists (10), and points (21) while playing all 32 games. Four of her tallies came on the power play and one was shorthanded.

Larsen (Bolton, ON / Mississauga Jr. Chiefs) lines up on defense, where she has 65 career games played (the 2020-21 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic). She has scored six times with 11 assists for 17 points to go with 90 shots. Two of her tallies have come on the power play and one was a game-winner.

She has blocked 78 shots, including 42 last season when she also registered two goals and seven points in 34 contests.

The Engineers, who posted a 9-24-1 record a year ago, have five returning for their graduate years, 11 seniors, four juniors, four sophomores, and seven newcomers, including Isabelle Hardy (Oakville, ON / Providence College), a graduate transfer. They begin the campaign on Saturday at the Houston Field House when they host RIT in the first of a two-game series in Troy beginning at 3pm. Sunday's game is also at 3pm.
