ITHACA, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis team took on Liberty League foe Ithaca College on Sunday afternoon, and prevailed with a commanding 8-1 victory over the Blue Bombers on the road at Reis Tennis Center at Cornell University.
The Engineers dropped just one point - coming in doubles play. They took the first two courts, with the top grouping of
Aiden Drover-Mattinen and
Andy Zhu taking an 8-3 victory to lead the way.
In singles play, Drover-Mattinen won a one-sided 6-2, 6-1 match in the top lineup spot, as all six Engineers won on the singles courts. RPI did not lose a game in each of the six singles courts.
RPI returns to action on Tuesday, March 26 at 5 p.m. when they hit the road to take on Bard in Liberty League action.
