ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The No. 27 Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis team came out on Saturday afternoon and swept through the RIT Tigers, taking the Liberty League match by a final score of 9-0.
RPI started strong in doubles play, with the standout match coming at No. 2 doubles with
Joel McCandless and
Tsubi Okada coming out with an 8-3 win to help set the tone for singles play.
In singles,
Andy Zhu and
Jonathan McMillan had the biggest outright wins, with Zhu winning at No. 2 singles 6-3, 6-0 while McMillan never lost a set with a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
The Engineers return to action tomorrow, Sunday April 14 when they head to Geneva to take on Hobart.
