LATHAM, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team pushed their winning streak to four matches on Tuesday afternoon, as they topped the Union College Garnet Chargers by a final score of 6-3 at Tri-City Fitness. The win also gives RPI their fifth win in their last six matches.
RPI took two courts in doubles play to open the match, winning on both the second and third courts to take a 2-1 lead into singles play. In singles, the Engineers took four of six courts - with
Lorna Flores Gonzalez taking the clinching point at No. 1 singles with a 6-3, 6-2 victory.
Prisha Rapur's win at No. 2 singles scored the first point when the match moved to singles to kickstart the scoring.
Brooke Bauer and
Lina Krumpel also won in singles.
RPI returns to action tomorrow, April 17 at 4 p.m. when they hit the road to take on Bard in Liberty League action.
