VERONA, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's golf team battled their way into four place after the first day of the Liberty League Championship held at the Shenendoah Golf Club at Turning Stone. The Engineers shot a combined team score of 301 (+13) on the day.
Leading the individual leaderboard for RPI was
Matt Buckley, who collected a 73 (+1) to put him in a T5 position heading into Saturday's action.
Rodrigo Muelas added a 74 (+2) for a T9 finish on the day coming in right behind Buckley.Â
Jacob Lindsay added a 76 (+4) for the third golfer in the top 20 for RPI as he came in at T15, while
Owen Himmer (78, +6) and
Ryan Komp (79, +7) rounded out the lineup for the Engineers.
RPI returns to action on Saturday for the second day of the Liberty League Championship from Verona.
