Field Hockey Controls Russell Sage for Fourth Straight Win

TROY, N.Y.- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) field hockey team won its fourth consecutive game with 2-0 victory against Russell Sage this afternoon on Harkness Field.

Sophia Brown found herself in the scoring column for the fourth game in a row, as she struck twice in the first 21 minutes to account for the Engineers two goals on the day. 

Brown drilled home a feed from Lauren McCarthy with four minutes gone in the first quarter before netting an unassisted strike with 9:26 before halftime. 

RPI attempted 36 of the 37 total shots on day, including all 22 shots on goal.

Home for four of the next five contests, the Engineers will welcome New Paltz to Troy for a 6:00 pm tilt on Wednesday night.
