RPI Scores 4-1 Victory Over Nationally-Ranked Clarkson

POTSDAM, NY - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's hockey team upset #19 Clarkson tonight in Cheel Arena.

Dovar Tinling registered two goals, while Nathan Sullivan and Jake Gagnon netted one score each to give the Engineers the victory over their ECAC rivals.

Sullivan gave RPI a 1-0 lead with four minutes left in the first period with assists from Elliott McDermott and Will Gilson.

Tinling and Gagnon would increase the margin to 3-0 with a pair of goals within 42 seconds of each other in the second period before Tinling recorded his second tally of the net with the net empty in the third.

Jimmy Goffredo and Jack Brackett assisted Tinling's first goal and Brad McNeil and Rainers Rullers provided the help for Gagnon in the second.

RPI goaltender Noah Giesbrecht saved 34-of-35 attempts by the Golden Knights.

Winners of three of their last four games, the Engineers will return home to host Harvard in Houston Field House on Friday at 7:00 pm.
