HAMDEN, Conn. – Facing one of the nation's top-ranked teams on the road, the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's hockey team battled throughout but ultimately fell 8–0 to Quinnipiac today in M&T Bank Arena.
Goaltender
Reese Keating stood tall despite the Bobcat pressure, making a season-high 50 saves, including 21 in the second period alone, to keep the Engineers within reach through much of the first half of the contest. Keating's performance marked her third 30-plus-save outing of the year.
At the other end,
Mia Montanari generated a team-high five shot attempts, while Davidson, Wensley, and
Sabrina Beaudoin each recorded four. RPI also posted 15 blocked shots as a team.
Quinnipiac scored three times in each of the first two periods and twice in the third, including three power-play goals. The hosts were led by Kahlen Lamarche, who recorded a hat trick, and Zoe Uens, who scored twice.
The Engineers next face Union on Friday at 3:00 pm in Houston Field House.
