ITHACA, NY – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis team was defeated by Tufts today in the third round of the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Team Champion.
Tufts, who was ranked #3 nationally and served as the host of this weekend's regional, captured the doubles point and won three of the first four singles tilts to take match by a 4-1 margin.
Tasmay Shah contributed the lone point of the afternoon for the Engineers, as he defeated Garv Bahl 6-0, 6-4 in fifth singles.
Shah was successful in doubles play as well, as he and
Nico Luis worked together for a 6-2 in third doubles. Luis and
Aiden Drover-Mattinen were still fighting in the third set of the singles matchups when Tufts clinched its fourth point of the contest.
