CORNELL, NY- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's tennis team defeated Ithaca 4-0 to earn a spot in the Liberty League semifinals.

Gauri Muliyil, Kaaviya Kannan, and Taylor Chandler all tallied points for the Engineers with straight-set singles victories.

Muliyil won 6-3, 6-1 as the number three, Kannan was triumphant as the number four by a 6-3, 6-0 margin, and Chandler tallied a 6-3, 6-4 win as the number six.

The pairings of Anushka Jaiswal / Kannan (6-1) and Muliyil / Chandler (6-0) helped RPI claim the extra doubles point as well.

The Engineers advance to a Saturday's semis against Vassar at 11:30 am.
