CORNELL, NY – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis won its fourth straight Liberty League Championship this afternoon with a 4-0 triumph against Hobart. The Engineer's four-peat marks just the second team in league history that a program has won four championship in a row (Skidmore 2014-2017), and gives RPI five league titles in the last eight seasons.
The Engineers did not surrender a point for the eighth time in ten league matches (regular and postseason combined), and finish the spring having won their final 14 contests.

Nico Luis each took care of business in two sets in singles play.
Aiden Drover-Mattinen &
Andy Zhu and Okada &
Joel McCandless gave the Engineers the early advantage with double victories. Drover-Mattinen and Zhu held big leads in their single matchups as well prior to the match-clinching point.
Drover-Mattinen / Zhu, the top doubles pair, logged a 6-2 win in 20 minutes, while Okada / McCandless were triumphant by a 6-4 in second doubles.
The #10 nationally-ranked Engineers will now wait for Monday night's NCAA Championship Division III Championship selection show, with Regional Round play scheduled to begin Friday, May 9.
