TROY, N.Y. –
Ian Oehlschlaeger and
Ayush Krishnappa of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) baseball team have earned prestigious postseason honors from both American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings and D3baseball.com, following standout 2025 campaigns. The pair were named First Team All-Region by both organizations, while Oehlschlaeger earned All-America honors from each, including a Second Team selection by ABCA/Rawlings and a Third Team nod from D3baseball.com.
Oehlschlaeger, who was previously selected as the Liberty League Rookie of the Year and an All-Liberty League First Team outfielder, adds to his accolade-filled freshman season with multiple All-America recognitions. He becomes RPI's first national All-American since 2009.
Oehlschlaeger posted staggering numbers in his debut season: a .438 batting average, 74 hits, 58 runs, 58 RBIs, and 11 home runs, while swiping 20 bases and compiling a 1.280 OPS. Oehlschlaeger was a fixture atop the RPI lineup and helped lead the Engineers to a 30-win campaign, a Liberty League Championship, and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Krishnappa also earned First Team All-Region honors from both ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com as a designated hitter, following a senior season that saw him lead RPI in numerous offensive categories. He hit .389 with nine home runs, 50 RBIs, and a .476 on-base percentage, which also helped him earn All-Liberty League First Team accolades.
RPI was one of just three school to place multiple players on the ABCA/Rawlings Region 3 First Team, joining SUNY Cortland and Merchant Marine.
