11 Engineers Receive AHCA Krampade Scholar All-American Honors

GLOUCESTER, Mass. – The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) has announced its 2024–25 Krampade All-American Scholars, with 11 student-athletes from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's and women's ice hockey programs recognized for their outstanding academic achievement during the season.

On the women's side, six Engineers earned the prestigious distinction. Junior forwards Sabrina Beaudoin and Kyley Toye were honored for the first time, alongside graduate student forwards Magdalena Erbenova, Ellie Kaiser, and Natalie Tulchinsky. Meg Hildner, a senior forward, rounded out her career with All-American Scholar honors in three consecutive seasons.

Five players were named Krampade All-American Scholars on for the Engineer men. Graduate forwards John Beaton and Jordan Tonelli each earned national academic recognition, while graduate defenseman Elliott McDermott was similarly honored in his final season. Senior defenseman Nick Strom picked up the award for the second year in a row, and senior goaltender Jack Watson, a two-time honoree, was again acknowledged for his achievements in the classroom.

To qualify as a Krampade All-American Scholar, student-athletes must have attained a 3.75 GPA or higher in each semester of the academic year and participated in at least 40% of their team's games, with exceptions granted for injuries and backup goaltenders. This year, the AHCA recognized 709 NCAA Division I hockey student-athletes nationwide (360 men and 349 women) for their achievements.

The Krampade All-American Scholars program was established in 2016–17 to highlight varsity ice hockey players who exemplify success both academically and athletically, celebrating the balance and dedication required of Division I student-athletes.
