POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) women's hockey team receiving a power-play goal from
Kendal Davidson in tonight's 7–1 decision at #11 Clarkson.
The Engineers broke through midway in the third period when Davidson buried a power-play goal from the left circle. The tally, assisted by
Sophia Jones and
Georgia Bailey, marked Davidson's fifth goal of the season and RPI's lone conversion on five power-play opportunities.
RPI had started the game with early energy and created chances in the first period, including shots from
Nina Christof,
Charlotte Wensley, and
Georgia Bailey, but Clarkson capitalized on an early even-strength opportunity to take a one-goal lead.
Davidson finished the night with a goal, three blocked shots, and heavy minutes on key shifts on both special teams units.
Sabrina Beaudoin led all Engineers at the dot with 12 faceoff wins.
Clarkson received goals from six different players in the win, with Raedyn Spademan leading the attack with two scores.
The Engineers will finish their northern road trip with a 3:00 pm matinee at St. Lawrence.
