The homestanding Raiders jumped out to the early 1-0 lead as senior Sam Hunt (Calgary, AB/Bowness Bruins) recorded her first goal of the year. Off a pass from Kiira Dostall (Fairfield, CT/Loomis Chaffee), Hunt was able to take advantage of the power play and put one past RPI's Sonja van der Bliek (Toronto, ON/Toronto Jr. Aeros) at 14:03.

Colgate found the back of the net minutes later as junior Beth Rotenberg (Toronto, ON/Toronto Jr. Aeros) capitalized on another extra-man advantage for the tally at 16:43. She was assisted by classmate Evan Minnick (Highlands Ranch, CO/Colorado Selects) on the tally.

Dostall made it a three-goal advantage for the Raiders in the second period after she corralled a pass from senior Elin Brown (Calgary, AB/Bowness Bruins) and put it past van der Bliek at 6:31 on the power play.

The visiting Engineers answered mid-way through the frame as senior Nicole McDonald (Ottawa, ON/Ottawa Raiders) tallied her third goal of the season. Assisted by classmate Jamie-Lynn Stewart (Cambridge, ON/Cambridge Jr. Fury), McDonald was able to find a way around Raiders netminder Kimberly Sass (East Amherst, NY/Buffalo Bison) at 13:23.

RPI cut the deficit to 3-2 at the opening of the final frame as sophomore Sydney O'Keefe (Prior Lake, MN/Prior Lake) converted a pass from the point by Sierra Vadner (Apple Valley, MN/Minnesota Thoroughbreds) on the power play at 2:46.

Late in the third period, the Engineers attempted to score the equalizer, pulling van der Bliek at 18:47 and 19:18, but the Raiders held on for the win.
