TROY, N.Y. – St. Lawrence University swept all six singles matches and used a dominant three match sweep in doubles to take a 9-0 victory in men's tennis against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) at Sharp Courts on Monday. The Saints, who have now won nine straight matches, improve to 10-3 overall while the Engineers drop to 3-3 on the season.
Highlighting today's match was a third singles battle between St. Lawrence's Will Cook (Brookline, MA/Thayer Academy) and RPI's
Matthew Asher (Endicott, NY/Union-Endicott). The pair played a hard fought match into the waning hours of daylight as Cook came out victorious with a 7-5, 7-5 victory.
