MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - Sophomore Austin Drexler (Houston, TX/St. Thomas) posted top-ten finishes in each of the three events he competed in to lead the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's and women's indoor track & field teams at the Wesleyan Invitational.  The meet was a non-team scoring invite.

Drexler finished fourth in the 55-dash with a time of 6.69.  He then placed ninth in the 200-dash (23.40) before rounding out his day with a fifth-place distance in the long jump (5.86 meters).

Also performing well for the men's squad was junior Nathan Marsan (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna), who was third in the 600-run (1:25.68).  RPI's distance crew was rounded out with a second place finish in the 5000-run by junior Michael Nickerson (Salem, MA/Bishop Fenwick) who posted a time of 16:16.23.

Senior Erik Whiting (Fultonville, NY/Fonda-Fultonville) performed well in the field events, placing fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 14.84 meters.

On the women's side, senior Rachel Guillot (Morrisville, VT/Peoples Academy) had a solid effort, finishing third in the 200-dash (27.62) before claiming fourth in the 600-run (1:43.68).  Classmate and distance runner Erin Kyle (Keene, NH/Keene) was fifth in the 1000-run (3:23.04) and also placed ninth in the 1-mile event (5:35.87).

For the field performers, senior Amelia Folkins (Rochester, NY/Penfield) was second in the pole vault with a height of 2.75 meters.

Both squads are back in action next weekend when they travel to Hamilton, N.Y., to compete in the Class of '32 Invitational at Colgate University on Saturday.
