TROY, N.Y. – The Liberty League has announced its weekly award winners in men's lacrosse and indoor track & field and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athletes Nick Billy, David Hey and Nathan Marsan have been honored. Billy and Hey earned Offensive Performer and Rookie of the Week, respectively, while Marsan was named Track Performer of the Week.

A junior attack from Redding, Conn., Billy led the Engineers to a pair of victories by tallying team-bests of six goals, eight points, 16 shots and 11 shots on goal. He scored one man-up goal and collected two ground balls. After tallying a goal in limited minutes in a 25-1 win over Mount Saint Mary on Wednesday, he scored a game-high five goals with one assist in a 13-12 win over RIT on Saturday. He also had 12 shots, including 10 on goal, with two ground balls.

Billy was fifth on the team in scoring a year ago, totaling 18 points on seven goals and eight assists. Playing in all 14 games, including one as a starter, he was third in shots (59) and fourth in shots on goal (30). A graduate of Joel Barlow High School, he also picked up 17 ground balls.

Hey, a freshman attack out of Chapel Hill, N.C., scored five goals with an assist for six points in the two wins last week. He also had 12 shots (7 on goal), a man-up goal and six ground balls. In his collegiate debut against Mount Saint Mary, he had three goals and an assist with eight shots and three ground balls. Hey then tallied twice on four shots with three ground balls against the Tigers.

A former standout at Durham Academy, Hey was a four-year starter on the varsity lacrosse team. A captain, he was named All-Conference twice and was the leading scorer in his junior and senior seasons. He also helped the team to four consecutive TISAC Conference Championships.

Marsan, a junior out of Niskayuna, N.Y., won the 500m dash at the ECAC Championships over the weekend, posting a time of 1:07.21 in the event. As a team, RPI finished eighth overall and first among Liberty League teams at the meet, which featured 49 squads.

Finishing second in the 500m dash at the State Championships in a time of 1:07.21, Marsan anchored the 4x800 relay team that took third at States, helping the Engineers win the nine-team meet. This is the second Track Performer of the Week honor for the former Niskayuna High School graduate.
