Men's Tennis Falls to Hamilton

Engineers slip to 6-6 after loss to Continentals

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis team wrapped up its Florida Spring Trip with a 9-0 loss to Hamilton.  The Engineers move to 6-6 on the season, while the Continentals improve to 5-1 overall.
 
RPI saw a number of tough battles in the loss, including in the first flight as sophomore Jarrett Regier (East Amherst, NY/Clarence) and Hamilton's Drew Libin split the first two sets before Libin prevailed 10-4 in the third set super-tiebreaker.
 
SINGLES
1. Drew Libin (H) d. Jarrett Regier: 4-6, 6-3, (10-4).
 
2. Jon Franzel (H) d. Brandon Mazzara: 6-1, 6-3.
 
3. Jordan Petit (H) d. Will Dickie: 6-2, 7-6 (1).
 
4. Matt Billet (H) d. Andre Vorbrodt: 6-4, 6-4.

DOUBLES
1. Libin/Franzel (H) d. Regier/Mazzara: 8-4.
 
2. Petit/Swett (H) d. Borton/Russo: 8-6.
 
3. Billet/Buck Reynolds (H) d. Dickie/Vorbrodt: 9-7.
 
The Engineers are back on the court on March 31 when they host Mount Saint Mary at Sharp Courts (1pm).
