Jarrett Regier won at first flight singles and paired with freshman
Brandon Mazzara for a victory at first doubles, but the Rensselaer tennis team fell to Hobart, 6-3, late Saturday night. With the win, the Statesmen improve to 16-3, while the Engineers drop to 7-8.
Regier and Mazzara downed Hobart junior Bruce Grant and freshman Michael Fields, 8-6, at first doubles. RPI also took the second flight doubles match, as seniors
Kyle Borton and
Patrick Russo also came away with an 8-6 victory.
The singles portion of the match was not as kind to the Engineers as they dropped five of the six match-ups. Regier's 6-4, 6-2 win at first singles was the lone victory for Rensselaer.
