ORLANDO, Fla. -
The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis team jumped out to a 2-1 lead in the doubles matches but the Engineers could manage victory in only two of the singles matches in dropping their spring season opener, 5-4 to The College of New Jersey.
"It was a really tight match and an amazing effort from our guys," head coach
Jon Satkowski said. "It would have been a great start to the season but I think the guys are anxious to get back on court."
The doubles squads of Will Dickie and Sherman Uyeno and Andre Vorbrodt and Graham Harris won at second and third, respectively. RPI's singles winners were Jarret Regier, who sat out the fall season while on co-op, at number one, and Dickie at number three.
