SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Jamie Jackson won the 18th hole to force a playoff and the freshman's par on the 19th hole gave the Rensselaer golf team a dramatic 3-2 win over Rochester in the semifinals of the Liberty League Championship. RPI, the second seed, advances to play top-seeded Skidmore in a match on Sunday with the winner earning the automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Rochester led 2-1 before RPI tied the match at 2-2 with Jackson still on the course. Down by one going into the par 3 18th, he made par to opponent Marc Youngentob's bogey to force the playoff.

After big drive on the first playoff hole (No. 1), Jackson came up short of the green and had to chip over a trap. Youngentob was also short, but had a clear path to the pin. Jackson chipped his third shot from approximately 40 yards to within a foot of the cup. Youngentob chipped to within six feet but missed his par putt. Jackson sank his putt for the win.
