BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's golf team competed over two days at the Dr. Tim Brown Invitational, held this weekend at Ballston Spa Country Club (par 71, 6,335 yards).
Leading the way for RPI was
Pat Kiernan, who finished 39th overall at +11. After opening with an 82 on Saturday, Kiernan responded with an impressive even-par 71 in the final round, highlighted by three birdies on the back nine, showcasing one of the strongest closing rounds by any player in the field.
Ryan Komp posted a consistent two-day performance to place 52nd overall at +14, carding rounds of 77 and 79. Komp recorded two birdies in each round, maintaining steady play throughout the tournament.
Zydon Yuan finished 58th overall at +15, recording rounds of 78 and 79. Yuan also tallied two birdies in each round and added a highlight in Sunday's play with an eagle on the par-5 third hole, providing one of the top individual moments for the Engineers during the weekend.
Nick Ventura placed 66th overall at +16, improving significantly from his opening round of 83 to a 75 on Sunday. Ventura's final round included three birdies, helping him climb the leaderboard over the second day of competition.
RPI also saw contributions from
Robert Chuang, who finished 85th overall at +22, and
Anthony Chen, who placed 90th at +25, rounding out the Engineers' lineup.
