POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Rensselaer was able to win at first and third doubles, then secure wins at second, fourth, and fifth singles to win a Liberty League Quarterfinal match against RIT, 5-1.
The Engineers captured the first doubles, 8-2, and won at third doubles by an 8-3 count.
Brandon Mazzara, who helped the first doubles team win, won at second singles, 6-3, 6-1, while freshman
Sherman Uyeno won fourth singles, 6-1, 6-1.
RPI, the third seed, plays second-seeded Vassar in the second semifinal on Sunday at 2pm. Skidmore, the top seed, faces St. Lawrence in the other semifinal.
