Season Tix InfoTHE FACEOFF
Rensselaer's annual Family Weekend features a weekend series of men's hockey featuring the Engineers and Bentley University ... Both games, which take place on Friday and Saturday night's at 7pm, are non-league games ... This weekend marks the first home games of the regular season for RPI.
THE SERIES
RPI has played Bentley four times, with the first meeting being a 4-0 win in Troy on October 9, 2007 ... Rensselaer is 3-1-0 against the Falcons, with the lone loss coming in the second matchup ... All four games have occurred at the Houston Field House.
IN DETAIL
The Engineers have twice shut out Bentley in the four times they have played. The first was by Jordan Alford, who stopped 16 pucks in a 4-0 win in 2007, and the most recent occurred in the last meeting with Allen York saving 23 shots in a 3-0 win in 2010. RPI and Bentley have played one overtime game with the Falcons claiming the victory, 4-3, on a goal by Jeff Gumaer.
ENGINEERS TO DATE
Rensselaer began the season on October 10 at No. 16 Notre Dame and the Engineers skated away with a 3-2 victory in the first round of the Ice Breaker Tournament ... RPI was then defeated by No. 1 Minnesota, 3-0, in the finals on October 12, before traveling to Denver last weekend ... Rensselaer fell twice to the No. 16 Pioneers, 3-0 and 4-1.
TEAM LEADERS
Senior forward
Zach Schroeder leads the team with two assists and two points ... Four players are tied with one goal, while four others have one assist apiece. Junior
Jason Kasdorf has started each of the first four games for the Engineers, going 1-3-0 with a .916 save percentage and a 3.27 GAA ... Senior
Scott Diebold has appeared in one game, stopping all 16 pucks he faced last Saturday at Denver.
