Kelsea Messer
GAME DAY
• Rensselaer (4-5, 2-2) hosts #13 Rochester (5-0) in the Liberty League opener for both teams at Harkness Field.

LAST TIME OUT
•  RPI freshman midfielder Megan Jones tipped home a goal mouth pass with 9:22 to play in regulation time to lift the Engineers to a 2-1 Liberty League field hockey win over St. Lawrence on Saturday. The Engineers opened the scoring on a penalty corner as Jena Nawfel put the ball in play, Claire Cecilio stopped it at the top of the arc, and Chloe Hutchinson fired her third goal of the season into the cage at 6:01 of the first half.

THE ENGINEERS
•    Chloe Hutchinson leads Rensselaer with three goals so far this season, while junior transfer Celia D'Agostino has recorded a team-best four assists as the Engineers' primary ball inserter on penalty corners.

•    Senior goalkeeper Hannah Clough returned to the field in RPI's game at St. John Fisher after missing the first four contests with an injury. Clough, an All-Liberty League selection a year ago, has made an impact since returning, posting a 3-3 record with one shutout, making 49 saves, and posting a 1.83 goals against average.

•    RPI's team is composed of a majority of young players, with ten freshmen gracing the roster, along with five sophomores, five juniors, and four seniors. The Engineers went 8-9 last season with a 2-4 mark in Liberty League play, but finished the 2013 season with five wins in the last six games.
•    Seniors Chloe Hutchinson and Molly Zuk, along with junior Angela Cascio will serve as captains to lead the Engineers this season.

THE YELLOWJACKETS
•     The University of Rochester field hockey team saw its undefeated season come to an end, falling 2-1 at SUNY Cortland on Saturday afternoon. The Yellowjackets (11-1) had started this season with a school record 11 straight wins.

•    Michelle Relin scored her team-leading 14th goal of the season, which puts her in a tie for 2nd all-time in UR history in goals scored (50) with Nancy Melvin.  She is one goal behind Anna Dobrzynski for the school record.

•    Relin also leads the Yellowjackets with a team-high four assists, for 32 total points. Callie Fisher and Gina Cunningham have both recorded six goals and two assists for 14 points.

•    Junior goalkeeper Tara Lamberti has started all 12 games in the cage for Rochester. She is posting a 1.19 goals against average with three shutouts, and has made 60 saves for a .822 save percentage.
