HANOVER, N.H. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) indoor track & field teams competed in the non-team-scoring Dartmouth Classic and several RPI student-athletes posted impressive performances. The Engineers had two victories and a runner-up on the women's side, while the men had two second place finishes and a third place.
Senior
Ivy Muchuma earned victory in the women's weight throw (16.62 meters), while also finishing third in the shot put (12.60). Classmate
Grace Tilton won the mile (5:00.77) and graduate student
Lydia Frangos was second to Muchuma in the weight throw (15.94).
Christine Artim had a third place performance in the 3000 meters (10:56.32) and
Vicky Buehler was third in the triple jump (10.66).
For the men, Zac Borrelli had two runner-ups, finishing second in the shot put (14.52 meters) and the weight throw (15.42). He was followed in the weight by teammates Devan Hayes, who was fifth (15.09) and Tyler Yeastedt, who was sixth (14.75).
Stephen Silber had a third place finish in the high jump (1.93), Zach Vanderzee was fourth in the 800 (2:00.68) and Bobby Parker was fourth in the mile (4:19.74).
RPI travels to Brockport for a meet next Saturday.
