TROY, N.Y. – The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) Athletics Hall of Fame Selection Committee has chosen four individuals for induction into Rensselaer's Athletics Hall of Fame. The Class of 2014 includes Jennifer Dias (Tulloch) '07 (track & field), Paris Moore '05 (basketball), Brian Pothier '00 (hockey) and Bob Conway, a long-time academic advisor at Rensselaer.

"We are thrilled to welcome the 2014 Class into the Rensselaer Athletics Hall of Fame," said Director of Athletics Jim Knowlton. "Each member has been an ambassador for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Department of Athletics and truly epitomizes all we value in our student-athletes and our role models."

A native of Taunton, Mass., Dias (click HERE for complete bio) competed in multiple events for the Engineers, including hurdles, relays, triple jump and long jump. Her greatest success came in the 400 meter hurdles in which she was a four-time NCAA Outdoor National All-America. She finished seventh in the nation as a freshman (62.87), fourth as a sophomore (62.39), second as a junior (60.97) and third as a senior, setting the school record with a time of 60.24.

Dias established 10 school records, including seven as an individual and three relays, on her way to being named the Liberty League Track Performer of the Year seven times (3 indoor, 4 outdoor), the New York State Championship Track Performer of the Meet once and the NYS Rookie of the Meet once. She won 12 state events and 13 competitions at league meets. The Taunton High School graduate, who was the Liberty League Performer of the Week 34 times during her career, holds school records in the 55, 100 and 400 hurdles, 500 meter dash, 600 meter run, triple jump, pentathlon and 4x200 and 4x400 relays.

Dias was a Dean's List student and multiple Liberty League All-Academic honoree as a biomedical engineering major.

A defenseman from New Bedford, Mass., Pothier (click HERE for hockeyDB.com bio) played 142 games for RPI, tallying 17 goals and 57 assists for 74 points with 150 penalty minutes. His best season came when he captained the team as a senior, notching 33 points on nine goals and 24 assists – all career-highs – in 36 games. He was selected All-ECAC, named to the ECAC All-Tournament Team and garnered AHCA National All-America recognition.

Pothier, a business and management major out of Northfield Mount Hermon School, helped the Engineers to three 20-win seasons and a four-year record of 83-50-12 (.613). He went on to play 12 seasons of professional hockey, including nine in the National Hockey League. In 362 NHL games, Pothier scored 26 goals with 92 assists for 118 points. He set career-highs of 77 games, 30 assists, 35 points and a plus-29 while with the Ottawa Senators in 2005-06. He also played for the Atlanta Thrashers, Washington Capitals and Carolina Hurricanes, concluding his career in May after playing two seasons for Geneve Servette in Swiss-A.

A guard from Hempstead, Long Island, Moore ranks fourth in school history with 1,359 career points. In 101 games over four years he averaged 13.4 points with 3.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game. He was All-Liberty League twice, including in his senior season when he earned First Team honors while serving as team captain. In the final season he averaged a team-best 18.4 points per contest, including registering career-highs of 31 and 33 points in consecutive games on the final weekend of the regular season.

A graduate of Kellenberg Memorial High School, Moore earned a bachelor's degree from RPI in business and management with minors in both information technology and psychology.

Conway, a Troy, N.Y., native, has worked closely with the students, as well as with the staff and administration, for nearly 40 years to ensure that Rensselaer's student-athletes maintain one of the highest graduation rates in the nation - at any level.

Formerly the director of the Advising and Learning Assistance Center, he was responsible for starting a number of programs aimed at assisting RPI's students through their academic careers. Under his leadership, the Center oversaw the development of a variety of new advising programs, including the Faculty Intervention Program, Meet Your Advisor Day and an extensive website of advising information.

A University of Albany graduate and former Mayor of Troy, Conway has been presented with numerous honors, including the first-ever "Pillars of Rensselaer Award," which recognizes a long-term staff member who understands the Institute's mission and history, has been a role model for other employees, shows concern for students and their welfare, adds to the human dimension of the school and who plays an active role in their home community.

The Class of 2014 will be inducted at Rensselaer's Annual Hall of Fame Banquet, which will be held during Reunion & Homecoming Weekend on October 9-12. They will be joined by former ice hockey standout Rosina Schiff '06, who was elected last year but deferred her induction while attending medical school.
