Event-by-Event Results

CANTON, N.Y. - Senior Zac Borrelli won the shot put and two of his teammates finished in the top four of the same event to help the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's indoor track & field team to fourth place after the first day of the New York State Meet being held at St. Lawrence University. RPI's women's team is in eighth place after Friday's action. The competition concludes on Saturday.

Borrelli threw the shot 15.10 meters to capture the event. Tyler Yeastedt was third (14.75) and Devan Hayes was fourth (14.49). Also excelling for the Engineers was Sean Quinn, who was second in the 5000 meters with a time of 15:05. The men's distance medley relay team was sixth (10:34.47) and Alden Chaisson scored in the pole vault, finishing eighth (3.95).

Ivy Muchuma, also a senior, had the best finish for the women's team, finishing second in the shot put with a throw of 12.05 meters. RPI's DMR finished fifth with a time of 12:39.48.
