LA MIRANDA, Calif. - The 30th-ranked Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) men's tennis team showed off its depth in defeating Biola University, 7-2, in a match at the Biola Tennis Center. The Engineers used eight different student-athletes in beating the Eagles, an NAIA competitor, and improving to 5-1 on the season. Biola is now 5-6.
RPI swept the three doubles matches before winning four of the six singles matches. Among those earning victory were senior
Jarrett Regier (East Amherst, NY / Clarence) and junior
Brandon Mazzara (Orange, CA / Villa Park), both of whom won at doubles (as teammates) and singles. Freshman
Stephen Baxter (Carmel, IN / Carmel), who was making his spring debut, also posted a win, capturing No. 6 singles by a score of 6-0, 6-4.
The Engineers return to action on Thursday night when it faces Whittier College, which is ranked 21st in the latest  Division III Men's National Rankings as administered by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
