LINCOLN, Neb. - Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) student-athlete
Ivy Muchuma earned National All-America in the weight throw at the 2014 NCAA III Indoor Track & Field Championships being hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University. Muchuma finished eighth with a throw of 16.93 meters.
Muchuma (Nashua, NH / Nashua North) had six attempts with the weight throw, three of which went over 16 meters. It was her second that earned her eighth overall.
Also competing in the weight throw for the Engineers was graduate student
Lydia Frangos, who finished 11th of 17 participants with a toss of 16.39 meters. Of her three throws, two were better than 16 meters.
Senior
Grace Tilton also represented RPI, running the women's mile preliminaries. She qualified for the finals with a time of 4:57.20. She is seeded eighth of 10 student-athletes who advanced and will compete on Saturday afternoon.
