GENEVA, N.Y. - The Rensselaer men's tennis team earned an 8-1 win over Hobart College in a match played this afternoon on the outdoor courts at the HWS Tennis Center. The Statesmen fall to 8-8 overall, and the Engineers, who are ranked No. 13 in the Northeast Region in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, improve to 10-3.
 
RPI earned a 3-0 lead in doubles and secured the victory with wins at Nos. 2-6 in singles. Senior Jarrett Regier, junior Brandon Mazzara, freshman McKinley Grimes and sophomore Sherman Uyeno all earned two wins.

Junior Michael Fields notched Hobart's lone triumph at the top singles spot. He defeated Matt LaBarre 6-4, 6-4. LaBarre is ranked No. 18 in the Northeast Region by the ITA.
