MENDON, N.Y. - The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) golf team got wins from juniors Brandon Mader and Michael Souliotis, but Skidmore College won the other three match-play matches to advance to the Liberty League Championship against the University of Rochester on Sunday. This is the third straight year the Thoroughbreds have eliminated the Engineers with the previous two also coming by 3-2 scores, but in the championship round.

Mader won his match, 4 and 3, while Souliotis won his at thre and two. The score was tied, 2-2, with the final match on the course, which was won by Skidmore. Rochester won its match over Clarkson, 3-1. The Yellowjackets, the top seed, and the Thoroughbreds, the third seed, play at noon on Sunday at Mendon Golf Club.
