GAMEDAY: It is a Sunday matinee for the Engineers, who host league foe Union College in a Liberty League contest ... Rensselaer is 7-5 overall and 2-2 in the conference, while the Dutchwomen are 5-8 and 0-4.

THE STANDINGS: RPI picked up a win against Rochester on Friday (1-0) and moved into a fourth place tie with the Yellowjackets, though the Engineers hold the tiebreaker ... Union is in seventh place, two games out of fourth, which is the final Liberty League Tournament position.

TOPPING 2014: Rensselaer's seven wins is one more than the team had last season when the Engineers finished 6-11 thanks to a pair of wins in the final two games of the year ... RPI's two Liberty League victories is equal to the number of conference wins last season (2-4).

HOME COOKING: After Friday's win, the Engineers are now 6-1 at Harkness Field including three straight shutouts ... RPI has outscored the opposition 26-5 in Troy with an 18-0 edge in the last three games.

ENGINEERS AT HOME: In seven games at home, sophomore Megan Jones has six goals and four assists for 16 points ... Classmate Jena Nawfel has five goals and two assists for 12 points.

RPI FOR & AGAINST: Through its 12 games, RPI averages 2.58 goals per game while allowing 2.08 ... The Engineers have 151 shots on goal on 225 attempts (.671) while the opposition has 111 shots on goal on 170 attempts (.653) ... Rensselaer has taken 137 penalty corners, compared to 65 for its opponents.

UNION FOR & AGAINST: Through its 13 games, Union averages 2.23 goals per game while allowing 2.77 ... The Dutchwomen have 140 shots on goal on 212 attempts (.660) while the opposition has 159 shots on goal on 252 attempts (.631) ... Union has had 92 penalty corners, compared to 150 for its opponents.

COMMON OPPONENTS: RPI and Union have five common opponents ... The Engineers defeated Rochester, Hartwick and St. Lawrence, while the Dutchwomen lost to all three ... Rensselaer and Union both lost to Skidmore and William Smith.

FRIDAY'S ACTION: Mikaela DiBello scored early in the first half and Rachel Kaufman stopped all four shots she faced as Rensselaer defeated Rochester, 1-0 ... In Schenectady, Union played nationally-ranked William Smith tough, but the visiting Herons scored at 64:26 for a 3-2 win ... Hannah Christian had both of the Dutchwomen's goals, while Laura Aptowitz stopped 11 shots in the cage.

LEADING THE WAY: Rensselaer is coached by Bridget LaNoir '99, now in her 15th season ... A member of the RPI Athletics Hall of Fame for field hockey and ice hockey, she became the program's all-time winningest coach in 2009, passing her former coach Beth Hallenbeck on October 20, 2009, when the Engineers defeated Utica, 2-0.

TEAM LEADERS: Seniors Angela Cascio and Celia D'Agostino are Rensselaer's captains ... Cascio is a forward who was also a team leader last season ... She started all 17 games a year ago, scoring three goals with one assist for 11 points ... She had 16 shots including 12 on goal ... D'Agostino also started all 17 games in 2014, tallying one goal on a penalty stroke with a team-high six assists for eight points.

SCHOOL RECORD: The 14 goals scored by Rensselaer against Keuka on September 20 set a school single game record ... RPI's previous mark was eight goals, which came in an 8-0 victory over Westfield State on September 14, 2002.

GAME-WINNERS: Five of RPI's seven game-winning goals have been scored by Megan Jones ... Jena Nawfel and Mikaela DiBello have one each.

UPCOMING: The Engineers are on the road for their next three games beginning on Wednesday afternoon at SUNY New Paltz ... Following games at Vassar and Castleton, RPI plays its final regular season contest on October 31 at 1pm against Oneonta.
