With the win, the Engineers improve to 2-0 on the season, while the Lions drop to 1-1.Grimes (Bedford, NH/Bedford) won at first flight singles, 7-5, 6-4, over regionally seventh-ranked Pierce Cooper. Brandon Mazzara (Orange, CA/Villa Park) at No. 1 doubles.
RPI sophomore
Tristan Wise (Lakewood, TX/Lake Travis) was victorious at third singles, while junior Al Grullon Gonzalez (Santo Domingo, Domincan Republic/St. Michael's School) won at third singles.
The Lions won the first two doubles matches, but juniors
Sherman Uyeno (Brea, CA/Brea Olinda) and
Graham Harris (Reno, NV/Galena) came away with a convincing 8-2 victory in the third flight.
Rensselaer is back in action on Sunday when it visits Stevens Institute of Technology (1pm). TCNJ hosts Ramapo on Wednesday (2:30pm).
